Jazz at MOCA - Melton Mustafa - November 25

What/Who: The Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA) is pleased to announce Melton Mustafa as part of the monthly Jazz at MOCA series. Trumpet player extraordinaire Mustafa is also known for being an arranger, composer, producer and educator. He has performed with some of the top names in jazz including the Count Basie Orchestra, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Woody Herman Orchestra, Bobby Watson, Jaco Pastorius and George Cables, among many others.

Though an active traveling artist, Mustafa manages to continue to educate and inspire others. He is currently the Director of Jazz Studies at Florida Memorial University, where he teaches Music Theory, Jazz Composition and other jazz-related courses. He also produces his Annual Melton Mustafa Jazz Festival at Florida Memorial University yearly, some past guest appearances being Jon Faddis, Abraham Laboriel, Benny Golson, Dr. Nathan Davis, Dr. Grover Washington Jr., and others. The public is invited to come sit under the stars and enjoy the jazz tunes by Melton Mustafa.
