Volunteers delight children in foster care and illuminate the campus
More than 50 volunteers from Holland & Knight spent their Sunday at Children’s Harbor, installing beautiful solar powered lights along the edges of the campus. Not only did they bring illumination, but they also brought a magician, who put smiles on the faces of the 35 children who reside at Children’s Harbor. The children were thrilled at the chance to see a live magic show.
Children’s Harbor, a nonprofit agency, provides nurturing, family group homes for 24 siblings and 11 pregnant/parenting teens involved in the foster care system.
“This is our third year holding a Day of Service at Children’s Harbor, and Children’s Harbor is truly deserving of all our efforts,” stated Tammy Knight, Children’s Harbor board member and Holland & Knight partner. “Children in foster care have been through so much and Children’s Harbor does an incredible job of loving and nurturing these kids.”
