Best of the best vocalists to appear on stage for chance to earn scholarship funds
Dozens of Palm Beach and Treasure Coast high school seniors recently brought their incredible vocal skills before the judges and now, Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast is thrilled to announce the finalists who will be competing for the chance to perform during the 15th annual “Watch A Rising Star” Finale Gala.
Competing for accolades and more than $10,000 in scholarship money during the March 25, 2017 event are:
VictoriaBartollotta: Martin County High School
Arrow ZurSchmiede: Home School
Emily Thompson: Dreyfoos HS
Makayla Forgione: Dreyfoos HS
Becca Suskauer: Dreyfoos HS
The dynamic vocal competition draws a crowd of more than 300 guests, and winners receive scholarships to be used at the college of their choice. The finalists will now go on to receive intensive vocal and performance coaching from veteran Broadway performers, Jackie Bayne Gillman and Jason Gillman. Prior to their performance during “Watch A Rising Star,” the young singers will also showcase their talents during special public events throughout their communities.
The unique event supports both the finalists and Junior Achievement programs – the finalists through the scholarship winnings and Junior Achievement through the funds raised during the event’s silent and live auctions. These monies help fund the financial literacy programs that Junior Achievement brings to students from kindergarten to 12th grade throughout Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Hendry counties.
The “Watch A Rising Star” Finale Gala takes place March 25, 2017 at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts located at 701 Okeechobee Blvd. in West PalmBeach. Tickets for the black-tie-optional dinner are $200 per person and include a full dinner, with multiples levels and sponsorships available.
