Golfers and supporters have the chance to take a swing for the future of local students during the 30th Annual Golf Classic benefiting Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast (JA). The fun-filled day is planned for December 9 at the Jonathan’s Landing Old Trail, Fazio Course. Chaired by Mark Wade, the Golf Classic includes a continental breakfast, a best ball scramble and an awards luncheon.
The tournament welcomes golfers of all levels to take part in supporting JA’s mission of empowering young people to own their economic success, while having fun. Proceeds of this event will support the ongoing operations of JA and the financial literacy programs it brings to students in grades kindergarten through high school across Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Hendry counties.
Founded in 1919 with programs offered to students in an after-school basis, Junior Achievement’s programs have expanded to provide critical instruction to young people in and out of the classroom. Today, Junior Achievement is the nation's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.
“Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast has inspired more than 20,000 K-12 students each year through the efforts of more than 600 volunteers,” says Claudia Kirk Barto, president of Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast. “We are able to bring our innovative, age-appropriate programming to these students thanks to the funds raised throughout the year with events like the Golf Classic.”
This year’s Golf Classic title sponsor is The Stiles Nicholson Foundation, with AutoNation Cadillac West Palm Beach serving as presenting sponsor. Additional sponsors include: PNC Bank and G4S.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at levels ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Foursomes, including those with the option to have a celebrity on your team, are also available. Entry fees are $200 per golfer or $800 per foursome.
