David J. Archacki, emergency management /utilities director for the City of Wilton Manors, takes advantage of the city’s environmentally friendly option for the convenient, curbside collection of household hazardous waste such as paint, motor oil, and pool and garden chemicals
Wilton Manors has become the first city in Broward County to offer its residents an environmentally friendly option for the convenient, curbside collection of household hazardous waste such as paint, motor oil, and pool and garden chemicals. The service is offered through Waste Management, the city’s environmental services provider, through its
At Your Door program.
Acceptable materials include paint products, automotive products, garden and pool chemicals, household cleaners, household and vehicle batteries, fluorescent tubes and CFL bulbs, and consumer electronics.
“We’re pleased to bring our At Your Door curbside collection of Household Hazardous Waste program to the residents of Wilton Manors,” said Kathy Mantz, Government Relations Manager for Waste Management. “This is the first city in Broward County to offer its residents a safe, convenient and at-home opportunity to properly dispose of household hazardous waste in an environmentally safe manner. We’re proud to partner with Wilton Manors on this effort.”
