The September jobs report released earlier this morning, showed total job creation of 156,000 new jobs. Average weekly wages increased from $882.54 the $887.18. Average hourly earnings increased just $0.06. Average weekly hours increased by one tenth of an hour.
The July number July was revised down from 275,000 to 252,000. August was revised up from 151,000 to 167,000. Average job creation for the past three months was 192,000 per month.
The labor participation rate jumped slightly, to 62.9%. This caused the unemployment rate to increase to 5%.
