Miami-based Sabadell United Bank, hosted the South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America 2016 Hispanic Heritage Awards honoring Helen Aguirre Ferré, Director of Hispanic Communications for the Republican National Committee, Jorge A. Plasencia, Chairman and CEO of Republica, and Alex Sanchez, President and CEO of the Florida Bankers Association.
The purpose of the event, which took place at the bank’s headquarters in Brickell, was to recognize respected Hispanic community leaders and organizations that exemplify the values of Scouting through their service and support of our community.
“As a former Eagle Scout and current executive board member of the Boy Scouts, this partnership exemplifies our commitment to inspire and prepare future generations of Hispanic youth in our community,” said Alex Hernandez, Senior Vice President, Private Banking & Wealth Management, Sabadell United Bank.
Guests indulged in light bites and cocktails and participated in a silent auction. Proceeds from the event help support South Florida Council’s Hispanic Outreach programs. These important initiatives are designed to bring Scouting directly to underprivileged youth in economically challenged communities.
