Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League teamed up with Telemundo 51 to host NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ Clear the Shelters second annual nationwide pet adoption drive on July 23, which resulted in 106 pets adopted from the League that day and over 20,000 pets nationwide found forever homes.

The Clear the Shelters second annual nationwide pet adoption campaign was spearheaded by the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations', a division of NBCUniversal and included the participation of more than 50 NBC and Telemundo stations across the United States and Puerto Rico. Sponsored nationally by Petco, VIP Petcare and ASPCA (the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), thousands of families adopted through the Clear the Shelters effort during the month of July, and on Saturday, July 23, families were able to rescue a homeless animal at either no-cost or at a reduced fee.
