Marshall Dennehey Announces New Florida Shareholders

Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, a leading civil defense litigation law firm, is pleased to announce that Fort Lauderdale attorneys Kimberly Kanoff Berman, D. Terrance Hill and Irene Thaler have been named shareholders of the firm. The promotions went into effect on January 1, 2020.

Kimberly Kanoff Berman, former special counsel, is now a shareholder in the firm’s Professional Liability Department. She is Board Certified in Appellate Practice in the state of Florida and has litigated numerous appeals in Florida state and federal appellate courts across a wide variety of matters. She also provides litigation support and counsel in insurance coverage, construction defect, premises liability, professional malpractice and bad faith cases. A graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Miami School of Law, Ms. Berman is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals 11th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals 3rd Circuit.

D. Terrance Hill, former associate, is now a shareholder in the firm’s Casualty Department. He focuses his practice on the defense of claims made and suits brought against insureds and businesses in premises liability, negligent security, construction defect, automobile liability and general casualty matters. He also represents municipalities and law enforcement agencies in federal and state civil rights cases. Mr. Hill is a graduate of the University of Florida and Florida Coastal School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Florida.

Irene Thaler, former associate, is now a shareholder in the firm’s Professional Liability Department. She devotes her practice to insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, first-party property defense litigation and complex construction defect claims. Ms. Thaler assists insurers in all aspects of coverage disputes in state and federal court, including pre-suit investigations, coverage evaluations, and litigation involving causes of action for declaratory judgment, breach of contract, and bad faith. She is a graduate of Fordham University and St. Thomas University School of Law. Ms. Thaler is admitted to practice in Florida.
