MD NOW Expands to Second Location in Manatee County

12/29/20

Offering “Gold Standard” COVID testing among many other urgent care services

MD NOW® Urgent Care, Florida’s largest urgent care provider, has opened a second location in Manatee County within the Lakewood Ranch community. The new physician-led, state-of-the-art clinic is located at 1838 Rye Road, Suite 107, Bradenton. MD Now’s first Bradenton clinic opened in October 2020 at 4332 Cortez Road W. Road after opening three clinics in Ft. Myers.

The move to Manatee and Lee Counties marks MD Now’s first expansion outside of Southeast Florida and the Treasure Coast, bringing the total number of clinics to 56 statewide.

“We are very proud to bring our brand of superior health care to the Bradenton market,” said Dr. Jeffrey Collins, MD Now’s Chief Medical Officer. “MD Now is a convenient, less costly alternative to a typical emergency room or when you can’t get in to see your primary-care physician. “We think residents will appreciate saving both time and money should they ever need treatment for common injuries and illnesses.”

Among its many services, MD Now offers COVID evaluations using the “gold standard” in PCR testing and antibody testing. In collaboration with one of the top CLIA-certified high-complexity laboratories in the nation, the test is cleared by the FDA under the Emergency Use Authorization.

“People who want to know if they have, or have had, COVID-19 can stop by one of our clinics and receive what many health experts deem the most reliable and accurate test on the market,” said Dr. Collins. “With holiday gatherings expected, we anticipate a big demand for testing in the coming days.”

In addition to COVID-19 testing, MD now offers other healthcare services including:

  • Care for common illnesses and injuries
  • Treatment for sprains, strains, and broken bones
  • Injury care for cuts, scrapes, wounds, and abrasions
  • Lab Testing
  • Digital X-rays and EKGs
  • Preventative Health Screenings
  • Physicals for school, sports, camp, and work
  • Vaccinations

All MD Now clinics are open 365 days a year and patients are typically treated in an hour or less. Most major insurance plans are accepted, but for those who don’t have coverage or have a very high deductible, MD Now offers a membership-based DirectCare plan to create easier access to affordable health care services.

MD Now DirectCare gives individuals and families access to an array of services for a set monthly fee starting at $99. In addition to this offering, MD Now is also providing free flu shots* while supplies last and COVID-19 PCR and antibody testing for a fee.
