Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will soon be home to the Alan B. Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation, scheduled to open its doors in July 2021.
The Levan Center of Innovation is the continuation of a long-standing public-private partnership with NSU and Broward County and will occupy the entire fifth floor of NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library, making it one of the largest centers of its kind in the nation, occupying 54,000-square-feet of space.
The Center is being designed to serve the community resulting in breakthrough ideas, new technology, job creation, talent skills pipeline, company formation, and scaling of early-stage and young startup companies. The Center is focused on three themes - innovation, technology, entrepreneurship - and four pillars - ideate, incubate, accelerate, post-accelerate. Each of the four pillars are supported by customized programs, events, and wraparound services. In short, the Center is an economic development engine for Broward County and South Florida with potential for national and international impact.
P2 Interiors, a design firm led by Ponch and Patty Herrera, along with their creative team, recently completed the design phase for the center. P2 has been collaborating with architectural firm ACAI to develop the facility. The forward design enhances the overall experience of the space. P2 created an open space were circulation and vistas are clear and defined by its multiple neighborhoods.
