For the seventh consecutive year and in recognition of National Hunger Awareness Month in September, Holy Cross Health is accepting applications from 501(c)(3) organizations in Broward County for funding of innovative programs to reduce food insecurity.

Applications for the John Johnson Food Security Grants are due by 1 p.m. on Monday, September 14. Eligiblefood insecurity programs must run between Nov. 1, 2020 and Oct. 31, 2021.

“Due to the pandemic, so many in our community have faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles and that includes hunger and food insecurity,” said Kim Saiswick, Vice President Community Health & Well-Being. “According to Feeding South Florida, Broward County has the highest percentage of food insecure individuals in South Florida. Through our John Johnson Food Security Grants, we can help our non-profits with funding to better serve those men, women and children who need it most.”
