He has tried more than 150 civil jury trials throughout his 25+ year career and has served as statewide trial counsel. He is also Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar. He is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law and is licensed to practice in all Federal District Courts of Florida.
Michael J. Decandio has been recognized in the Best Lawyers in America for Professional Malpractice Law – Defendants since 2014. As senior counsel in the firm’s Jacksonville office, he concentrates his practice on the defense of construction and design professionals. Additionally, he defends both products and premises liability as well as trucking cases. He has tried nearly 100 cases to verdict. He is a former assistant state attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida for Duval, Clay and Nassau Counties. He earned his juris doctor from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University and is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
