Orlando-area apartment project will target local workforce

Batson-Cook Development Company (BCDC), Red Clay Development Partners and Atlantic Residential have broken ground on Indigo at Champions Gate, a 300-unit garden apartment community in the Champions Gate submarket of Orlando, Fla.

The 17.8-acre property will feature ten three-story residential buildings that will provide workforce housing for renters drawn to the Kissimmee and Orlando area by the region's major employers and economic profile. With market-leading amenities, Indigo at Champions Gate will have a luxury clubhouse and lounge, a fitness center with bay doors that open to the resort-style pool and nature trails throughout.

“Champions Gate is the heart of Orlando’s tourist and commercial district, which means jobs and commerce,” said Litt Glover, President and CEO, BCDC. “There is tremendous demand for high-quality projects that can house the people who work in the area. We are thrilled to start Indigo at Champions Gate with our partners Red Clay and Atlantic Residential.”

With premium finishes and top amenities emphasizing quality and health & wellness, the units will have seven different floor plans and range in size from one-bedroom to three-bedroom with an average size of 1,035 square feet.

Indigo at Champions Gate will have an outdoor yoga and sport court area, an outdoor lounge with a gourmet grilling area and a business center with conference room. There will also be a children’s playground and a dog park and pet care center.

The project is 25 miles southwest of the Orlando Central Business District at the high-profile corner of Ronald Reagan Parkway and U.S. Highway 27. Champions Gate is anchored by 36 holes of championship golf designed by international golf champion Greg Norman.

“We are proud of our team’s extensive efforts assembling this site and are excited to bring a high-quality offering to the Champions Gate area,” said Jack Misiura, principal of Red Clay Development Partners.

Synovus Bank and Marble Capital are providing financing. Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group served as capital advisor. The project team includes general contractor FaverGray, architect Forum Architecture, civil engineer Kimley Horn and interior designer Design Environments.

The joint-venture partnership expects Indigo at Champions Gate to welcome residents in the fourth quarter of 2021.
