DLA Piper's Harout Samra Reappointed to Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission

Harout J. Samra, an associate in DLA Piper’s Miami office, was reappointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission for a four-year term ending July 1, 2024.

Samra was first appointed to the Florida Third District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission by Governor Rick Scott in 2014. He was reappointed for a second four-year term in 2018, and later that year, he was elected to serve as chair of the Commission, a role in which he oversaw the nomination process for four vacancies on the Third District Court of Appeal. In 2019, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Samra to the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission, to complete a term expiring in July 2020.

Samra focuses his practice on international dispute resolution and arbitration matters, including international civil litigation in US courts. He is board-certified in international law by the Florida Bar and has represented clients from both the public and private sectors, including foreign governments and clients from the insurance, banking, finance, manufacturing, aviation and hospitality industries.
