Developer HTG Appoints Michael Sheitelman to COO

Housing Trust Group (HTG), one of the nation’s largest developers of affordable housing, is proud to announce the appointment of Michael S. Sheitelman to the role of Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Sheitelman will oversee all of HTG’s real estate functions including - acquisition, entitlement, development, construction, legal, development finance and property management teams - reporting to CEO Matthew A. Rieger.

HTG is an award-winning, full-service developer of multifamily residential communities with over 7,000 affordable and market-rate units throughout Florida, Georgia, Texas and Arizona, and more than 2,000 new apartments in the pipeline.

Prior to joining HTG, Sheitelman served as General Counsel for Crescent Heights, an urban real estate development firm with offices across the country. Prior to that, he was a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of Gray Robinson, PA, where he represented clients in all legal aspects involved in the acquisition, financing, development, construction, leasing and sale of various classes of real estate. He has also led his own law practice, Sheitelman Law, and served as Associate General Counsel for G.L. Homes of Florida.

Sheitelman earned a B.A. from Tulane University and a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. He also holds an LLM in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center and an LLM in Real Property Development from the University of Miami School of Law.
