Kelley Kronenberg, a diverse business law firm, is pleased to announce the firm has hired Jorge J. Perez as a Business Unit Leader in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Perez handles business insolvency, receiverships and other fiduciary matters in addition to practicing commercial litigation.

Perez brings unmatched experience to the firm as a former Circuit Court Judge, previously appointed by Governor Bush. As Circuit Court Judge in Miami Dade County, 11th Judicial Circuit, Perez ruled on more than 100 jury and bench trials. Since returning to private practice in 2007, he has focused his practice on complex commercial litigation. Additionally, he assists clients in matters involving receiverships, fiduciary appointments, mediation, arbitration and general commercial litigation.

At the start of his illustrious career, Perez served as Assistant District Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security in Miami, representing the United States in federal immigration administrative and judicial proceedings.

Outside of the office, Perez is heavily involved in the Hispanic National Bar Association as well as the Federalist Society and the Miami Dade Justice Association. He is also a founding member of the nationally recognized “It’s Your Life” Foster Child Transition Program.

Perez received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami before completing his juris doctor at the University of Florida. He is admitted to practice law in Florida.
