Dental Insurance Coverage with Guardian Life Available on Healthcare.gov

Guardian Life, an insurance company in business for more than 155 years, announced its 2020 dental plans for Florida in the Health Insurance Marketplace. Currently celebrating 50 years offering group dental coverage, Guardian Life is not only one of the largest dental insurance networks in the country but provides easy access to affordable coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace (also known as the Health Exchange) in your native tongue.

Open Enrollment will begin on November 1, 2019 and runs through December 15, 2019 for coverage effective on January 1, 2020.

Cost is the top reason for infrequent dental care across all age groups, however, the degree of concern about costs varies by household income. Over half (53%) with a household income of less than $50,000 mention cost as their main reason for infrequent dental visits.[1] And according to Guardian Life’s research, four in 10 adults skip or delay a dental care procedure due to the out-of-pocket cost[2].

“Many adults not aware that our mouths are linked to our physical and emotional wellness so visiting a dentist twice a year for preventive care check-ups is an investment in your health,” said Angel Sanchez-Figueras, D.D.S, Dental Director at Guardian Life. “The value of having Guardian Life dental is that routine dental exams and cleanings will be covered at no cost as long as the member stays within network. Additionally, the money you pay per month is still a savings if you think about what you would need to pay for unexpected treatments like root canals, extracted teeth and crowns.”

Guardian provides affordable dental insurance with premiums for adults starting at $8.06 a month and covers an array of services.[3]There are two options when enrolling in a Guardian Florida dental plan, a PPO or DHMO plan. Guardian’s Florida PPO network has more than 8,657 dentists in more than 93,740 locations, while Guardian’s DHMO network has more than 2,000 dentists in more than 14,000 locations in Florida.[4]

Covered services from any participating dentist in the network include:

  • Regular visits for checkups and cleanings
  • Diagnostic and preventive benefits such as oral examinations, X-rays, topical fluoride, and dental sealants
  • Restorative services such as fillings and crowns
  • Root Canals

Oral health issues are among the most common and preventable health concerns impacting the American public[5]. Guardian’s plans provide comprehensive coverage and access to a large dental network. While dental insurance is not required for adults under the Affordable Care Act, a dental plan cannot be obtained through the marketplace unless one is also enrolled in a health insurance plan.
