Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP Partner Lisa Colon recently received the 2019 Diversity Law Institute (DLI) Award from the Construction Lawyers Society of America (CLSA). Colon, who was honored for her continued efforts and interest in diversity in the legal profession, received the award at CLSA’s International Conference & Induction of Fellows held September 11-13 in Colorado.

Over the last year, the DLI and CLSA have been working to increase its emphasis on diversity, including a diversity speaker at each conference. In addition to receiving her award, Colon also presented on “Marketing Strategies for Diversity,” at the conference.

Colon, a Partner in the Fort Lauderdale office, is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar, and is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Mediator. Sher represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals in public and private real estate and construction matters.
