Renowned appellate attorney one of only 500 attorneys nationwide in exclusive group

Ed Guedes, a member with Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, P.L. and chair of the firm’s Appellate Practice Group, has been elected as a Fellow of The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers (AAAL). This prestigious appointment is limited to 500 members nationwide.

AAAL recognizes outstanding appellate attorneys. The organization’s purpose is to promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of appellate courts.

Membership in the AAAL is by invitation only. Candidates for membership must be nominated by a present member, are peer reviewed, approved by a Membership Evaluation Committee and elected at an AAAL meeting.

To be elected, an attorney must possess a reputation of recognized distinction as an appellate lawyer and have substantially focused on appeals during at least the last 15 years.

Guedes is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in the field of Appellate Practice and a former finalist nominee to serve on the Florida Supreme Court. He is also ranked in Florida by Chamber and Partners in Litigation: Appellate and recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© 2020 in Appellate Practice by Best Lawyers.
