Zeder Rosen Selected from Over 60 Nominees for her Work with Kristi House, Inc., at Philanthropy Miami’s 22nd Annual Donor Next Door Luncheon on March 13
Kara Zeder Rosen of The Jills Zeder Group (effective March 7, 2019) was named The Miami Foundation’s 2019 Emerging Philanthropist honoree at Philanthropy Miami’s March 13, 22nd Annual Donor Next Door Luncheon at Jungle Island. Zeder Rosen was honored for her work with Kristi House, Inc. where she is president of the board. The event, hosted by Philanthropy Miami in partnership with The Miami Foundation, honored individuals and organizations that inspire philanthropy in Miami.
Zeder Rosen was selected from over 60 nominees to receive the Emerging Philanthropist award, which recognizes a 40-and-under Miamian giving significant time, talent, and/or treasure back to the community and inspiring others to do so.
Kristi House, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization in Miami, dedicated to healing and eradicating child sexual abuse. The Miami Foundation partners with donors to champion their causes and improve local quality of life.
During the event, Zeder Rosen spoke to express her appreciation for the honor. For the past six years, she has fundraised and “friendraised” for Kristi House. In 2012, she became the youngest member of the board and is now serving her third year as its president.
As the Kristi House board president, Zeder Rosen has built bridges with community partners, recruited a new CEO, and fundraised to meet the board’s strategic plan. In 2018, she inspired a family to make the largest single philanthropic donation ever to Kristi House - $250,000 - to support core operations. Under Zeder Rosen’s leadership, private giving has increased and two additional satellite locations have opened to better serve clients in the southern part of Miami-Dade County.
Zeder Rosen has been active in South Florida real estate since 2007. Born and raised in Miami, she lives in Coral Gables. She has also lived in Coconut Grove and Miami Beach, and has an in-depth knowledge of those areas and what they have to offer. She speaks Spanish, and frequently assists foreign buyers and sellers in helping them on matters related to Miami real estate.
