Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce that attorney Larry S. Perlman, based in the firm’s Miami office, has been named partner, effective February 1^st.

A member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice and the Automotive and Health Care Industry Teams, Dr. Perlman regularly advises clients on a wide array of personnel-related matters involving compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws. He joined Foley & Lardner in April 2008 and previously served as senior counsel.

A litigation attorney, Dr. Perlman routinely represents employers in state and federal courts throughout the nation, as well as in administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and National Labor Relations Board. In addition to representing clients nationwide, his practice also involves assisting clients with a variety of day-to-day human resource issues, such as employee discipline, employee leave, wage and hour questions, and disability accommodation. He has handled claims involving employment discrimination and harassment under federal and state law, as well as common law tort and contract actions.

Prior to joining Foley & Lardner LLP, Dr. Perlman worked as a physician specializing in internal medicine.

Dr. Perlman earned his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and received his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. He received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, Michigan, as well as the United States Supreme Court, United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Sixth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals.
