Bilzin Sumberg Announces 2019 Partner Promotions

Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce three attorneys have been elected to the firm's partnership. Effective January 1, 2019, Corporate attorney Christopher I. Pierson, Corporate & Tax attorney David S. Resnick, and Land Development & Government Relations attorney Eric Singer will become the firm's newest partners.

Christopher I. Pierson Christopher I. Pierson counsels his clients on complex corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, fund formation, intellectual property and securities transactions for established and start-up companies. Fluent in French and German, Chris has substantial experience abroad and regularly works with international clients doing business in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Chris graduated magna cum laudefrom the University of Michigan where he earned his bachelor's degree, received his law degree from the University of North Carolina, and a Diploma in International European Law from the Université Jean Moulin Lyon III.

David S. Resnick David S. Resnick lends a strong tax background to his clients' transactions, advising real estate developers, investors, restaurateurs, and corporations when forming joint ventures. With his extensive knowledge of international tax law, David assists clients with voluntary disclosures and other foreign tax compliance requirements. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan. David earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan with high distinction,graduated cum laude from New York Law School where he earned his law degree, and he received his Master of Law degree from the University of Miami.

Eric Singer Eric Singer focuses his practice on the areas of government procurement and complex government transactions, including public-private partnerships. Eric serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross, Greater Miami and The Keys Chapter, and he is a member of The Florida Bar's Governmental and Public Policy Advocacy Committee. He has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers as a Florida Rising Star every year since 2013 and was named Daily Business Review's Most Effective Lawyer for Real Estate in both 2012 and 2016. Eric earned his bachelor's degree from Cornell University, his master's degree from the University of Michigan, and received his law degree from the University of Chicago with high honors and the John M. Olin Prize, to the top student in law and economics. Prior to joining the firm, Eric was a law clerk to the Honorable Danny J. Boggs of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and he also served as a visiting faculty member at the NYU School of Law.
