Forrest Andrews

Miami-based law firm Lydecker Diaz has hired Forrest Andrews to boost its growing appellate division, bringing an attorney with years of public sector legal work and experience at all levels of the Florida judicial system to the firm. Over the past decade-plus, Andrews has served in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Attorney General and the City of Miami Attorney’s Office. At Lydecker Diaz, he will continue to focus on appellate matters, provide litigation support to trial counsel and argue significant matters during the course of court cases.

“We welcome Forrest to the Lydecker Diaz team and are excited to put his expertise to work for our clients, particularly within our growing appellate division,” said Richard Lydecker, Founding Partner of Lydecker Diaz. “His diverse experience in criminal and government law, as well his work arguing cases before the Florida Supreme Court and Third DCA, set him apart and add tremendous value to the firm.”

Prior to joining Lydecker Diaz, Andrews served in a number of roles, beginning his legal career as a prosecutor at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. There, he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases, including complex drug trafficking cases. Andrews then served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General, where he drafted more than 100 appellate briefs and presented more than 20 oral arguments in the Florida Supreme Court and the Third District Court of Appeal of Florida. Most recently, he served in the Appellate Division of the City of Miami Attorney’s office, where he represented the municipality on a wide range of legal matters, including civil rights suits, personal injury, municipal law and employment cases.

At Lydecker Diaz, Andrews will focus on the following practice areas: general civil trial appeals; municipal liability appeals; constitutional, civil rights and administrative law appeals; local government appeals; general litigation; and litigation and trial support.

Andrews studied law at Albany Law School of Union University and completed his undergraduate studies in political science at the University of Delaware. He is involved in several professional and community pursuits outside of his legal practice. His memberships and activities include:
