“Studies show that underserved and uninsured women are more likely to die from breast cancer due to lack of screenings and late-stage diagnoses, and our Partners in Breast Health program is determined to change that,” said Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO Patrick A. Taylor, M.D. “We appreciate the impact the WOW! committee, our sponsors and all who attend the luncheon have on this program.”

This year, Alice Jackson, along with Mary Mullen and Sheri Whittington who were honorary chairs of the luncheon, announced during the luncheon a new fundraising campaign to support the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center and Partners in Breast Health.

“Etched in glass in the lobby of the Women’s Center are the 200 members of the Girlfriend’s Club who donated funds as lifetime, founding members in support of the Women’s Center,” said Jackson. “We are continually asked how others can become girlfriends. So I am joining Mary (Mullen), Peggy (Marker) and Sheri (Whittington) in launching “Girlfriend’s Club: The Next Generation” to welcome 100 more Girlfriends into this special group. We are adding a new wall adjacent to the original wall with our inaugural 200 members that will have the names of the next generation of donors who become part of this important legacy.”
