Lowndes Hires New Attorneys Kelly, Johnson and Pickett; Welcomes Simon Back

Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed is pleased to announce that Jill Simon has returned to the firm as of counsel, and three new associates Andrew Kelly, Rasheem Johnson, and Jonathan Pickett joined the firm after graduating from law school and passing the Bar this summer. Previously, Kelly spent the summer with the firm as a law clerk. Johnson and Pickett are both new to the firm. Simon, who worked in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group, has returned to Lowndes after working for two boutique law firms in the areas of family law, litigation and labor & employment.

Simon works in the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Group. She represents companies with issues regarding human resources. Simon regularly represents employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies in defending against claims involving allegations of employment discrimination and violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), and other employment laws. Simon earned her law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2007. This year, Jill is the president of the Orange County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section.

Kelly has begun his career in the firm’s Real Estate Group. In this role, Andrew focuses his legal practice on real estate development, finance and transactions, condominiums, property owners’ associations, commercial leasing, commercial lending, and title insurance. Kelly graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Johnson works in the firm’s Land Use, Zoning & Environmental Group. In this role, he assists clients statewide on entitling projects for commercial, residential, industrial, office, and mixed uses. He is a graduate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Pickett joined the firm’s Litigation Group. He primarily focuses his legal practice on complex litigation, civil litigation, commercial litigation, business litigation, intellectual property litigation, family law, and probate and trust litigation. He received his law degree from Emory University.
