9/20/18

Metro Diner, known for its warm, welcoming service, large portion sizes and serious diner food, will open its third Broward County location at 8390 Pines Blvd. in Pembroke Pines on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The diner, which was featured by Guy Fieri in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, will serve all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner with new twists on traditional dishes alongside beverages including beer, wine, mimosas and Bloody Marys.

“Guests feel at home when they come to Metro Diner because we welcome them as if they are coming to our own house,” said Pembroke Pines Metro Diner Managing Partner Russell Kunkowski. “Metro Diner is known as the place where ‘the locals eat’ and we are excited to share our made-from-scratch dishes with the Pembroke Pines community and become the new go-to destination where our diners turn into regulars.”

Metro Diner features daily blackboard specials with quality ingredients and a scratch kitchen that also serves gluten-friendly options. Dishes include comfort food favorites like Fried Chicken & Waffles and Metro Diner’s acclaimed Meatloaf Plate, as well as new dinner menu items including Chicken Parmesan and the Pulled Pork Mac Stack – a half-pound of BBQ pulled pork piled over creamy macaroni & cheese and a cheddar cornbread waffle topped with maple butter.

The Pembroke Pines community is invited to celebrate the arrival of Metro Diner during special pre-opening charity events. All donations will benefit the Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention (FISP) on Saturday, Oct. 6, whose mission is to prevent suicide through education, survivor support, advocacy, prevention program development, and research. On Sunday, Oct. 7, all donations will benefit Tomorrow’s Rainbow, which provides grieving children, teens and their families an emotionally safe environment for hope and healing. Guests who provide a donation will receive a sneak peek of the new eatery and enjoy Metro Diner favorites. Reservations can be made for the fundraisers from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. by calling the charity reservation line at (561) 899-6414.
