First & Only Lab in Florida to Offer Fast, High-Quality Interventional Imaging with New Canon Medical Systems Angiography System

Broward Health Coral Springs (BHCS) celebrated the opening of its interventional radiology and vascular lab with a ceremonial ribbon cutting attended by City of Coral Springs Vice Mayor Lou Cimaglia, Broward Health president and CEO Beverly Capasso, Broward Health Coral Springs CEO Jared Smith, BHCS’ Medical Director of Radiology Carl Raboi, and members of the community. The lab, the first in Florida to offer this technology, will provide enhanced services to the local community including improved image quality, minimized X-ray exposure, and superior 3D imaging.

“The new interventional radiology lab is a great resource for the Coral Springs community,” said Beverly Capasso, Broward Health president and CEO. “We constantly strive to provide a better patient experience by offering industry-leading imaging tools that prioritize safety without sacrificing high-quality imaging or efficiency.”

Patients of BHCS now have access to fast and safe interventional radiology exams with the installation of Canon Medical Systems’ InfinixTM-iSky + angiography system. The unique double sliding C-arm design of the Infinix-iSky + gives physicians the flexibility to perform a wide array of procedures and delivers exceptional patient care with 3D imaging anywhere it is needed.

“We are committed to offering our patients the best possible care, and we can quickly and accurately provide minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment for a wide variety of diseases,” said Jared Smith, CEO, BHCS.

BHCS will be using the Infinix-i Sky + for a variety of interventional procedures including stroke, blood clot removal, artery stenting and uterine fibroid embolization. The Infinix-i Sky + features a unique double sliding C-arm design that allows interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons to perform 3D imaging anywhere, with 210 degrees of anatomical coverage on both the right and left side of the patient and a high speed 3D rotation of up to 80 degrees per second. The system incorporates dose management tools to help clinicians minimize X-ray exposure to the patient, including technology like Canon Medical Systems’ Dose Tracking System that estimates peak skin dose exposure in real time.

“Interventional radiology is a powerful tool to aid clinicians in diagnosing and treating diseases throughout the body, and the Infinix-i Sky + is capable of providing the flexibility for more applications,” said Satrajit Misra, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Canon Medical Systems. “We designed the Infinix-iSky + to combine efficiency, safety and high-quality images so that health-care providers like Broward Health Coral Springs can focus on delivering an exceptional patient experience.”
