CELEBRATION, Fla., June 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Florida Hospital Nicholson Center, today announces it has earned the American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) status as a Focused Accredited Education Institute (AEI). The top of the line training facility has completed a multi-step review process and was awarded a five-year accreditation. Only 93 other facilities worldwide hold the AEI designation.

The ACS-AEI program was formed in 2005 to provide a set of standards for surgical education and training at its designated institutes. The program’s goal is to promote patient safety through the use of simulation, to develop new education and technologies, to identify best practices, and to promote research and collaboration.
For over a decade, the Nicholson Center has focused on disseminating leading-edge surgical knowledge and techniques for the global community. More than 50,000 physicians from around the world have utilized the highly collaborative learning environment.
