The team from the Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center at Broward Health Coral Springs celebrate their award recognition.
The Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center at Broward Health Coral Springs (BHCS) has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year with the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award from Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former chief medical officer for Healogics.
“Broward Health is dedicated to providing advanced wound care for the community and we are proud to consistently receive this prestigious recognition from Healogics,” said Broward Health President/CEO Beverly Capasso. “This is a wonderful achievement for our wound care team and we are committed to improving the quality of life for patients suffering from non-healing wounds.”
To achieve the Center of Excellence Award, BHCS’ Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive years. Out of 340 eligible Centers in the nation, 268 were honored with the Center of Excellence Award.
BHCS also received Healogics’ Center of Distinction Award for the ninth consecutive year. To achieve the award, the Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. There were 635 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 427 achieved the honor.
“We are honored to receive two prestigious awards for our clinical excellence and wound care management,” said Broward Health Coral Springs CEO Jared Smith. “Broward Health Coral Springs is committed to ensuring that all patients have access to quality wound care. Our mission is to provide healing so patients can go on to lead healthy, happy lives.”
