Brett Schneider, Chair of the Labor & Employment group at Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, recently served as a panelist for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) HR Insights event, titled HR in a #MeToo World, at Jungle Island in Miami. The panel was called, A View from the Outside Counsel.

“Sexual harassment has impacted the workplace now more than ever,” said Schneider. “It’s important we help people understand the legal ramifications from all points of view, whether it be from inside the executive suite or from different positions within an organization.”

Schneider represents clients in collective bargaining negotiations, unfair labor practice proceedings and grievance proceedings. He also has extensive experience representing clients in all phases of employment litigation, up to and including, trial on matters arising under federal, state and local employment laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Federal Constitutional claims asserted under 42 U.S.C. 1981 and 1983 and the Florida Civil Rights Act.

Schneider is admitted to practice law by the Florida Bar, New York Bar and the District of Columbia, by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York.

He received his undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Maryland and his juris doctor, with honors, from George Washington University National Law Center.
