Joseph R. Englander has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Group as a Shareholder in the Miami office. Englander handles a broad range of intellectual property matters, including the prosecution of U.S. and international patents, trademarks and copyrights, the negotiation and enforcement of intellectual property transactions and licensing agreements and the representation of corporations and individuals in intellectual property disputes and related corporate matters. He is experienced in trials before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Kristine DeSoiza has joined the Fort Lauderdale office as an Associate in the Insurance Practice Group where she focuses her practice on insurance coverage disputes, construction defect claims, professional liability claims, commercial general liability, and commercial litigation. DeSoiza defends insurers in bad faith litigation and counsels insurers with respect to first-party and third-party bad faith claims. She earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising with a concentration in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
Simon T. Garcia has joined the Miami office as an Associate in the Maritime and Insurance Practice Groups. His practice includes the defense of a variety of claims, with a particular emphasis on premises liability and personal injury matters. Garcia regularly defends companies and major insurance carriers against claims that occur on commercial property. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from Florida State University.
Lindsay M. West has joined the Fort Lauderdale office as an Associate in the Insurance Practice Group.She focuses her practice on all aspects of Insurance Law and has experience in a wide range of insurance-related matters, including: general liability, premises liability, professional liability, vehicular liability, personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance coverage issues. Lindsay received her Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law and she additionally obtained her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, with a major in Criminology and Criminal Justice, from Florida State University.
Priscilla S. Zaldivar has joined the Fort Lauderdale office as an Associate in the Insurance Practice Group where she focuses her practice on all aspects of Insurance Law. Priscilla received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law where she served as Staff Editor of the St. Thomas University Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Florida International University.
