In a recent survey by South Florida Leader’s in Law, David W. Singer & Associates, a personal injury law firm based in Hollywood, ranked in the top 10 in South Florida Settlements. The publication covered the period from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016. The case involved Singer’s client, a prominent Miami attorney who will need medical attention for the rest of his life due to a roofing mishap.

Singer’s $575,000 settlement ranked 8th in the list of South Florida Settlements in the Lexus Nexus Leaders In Law publication. Attorney Louis Zaretsky sued roofing contractor Avon Park Construction after he fell from the roof while observing the work of a construction crew installing solar panels. This happened when workers invited him up to his roof to check the progress of solar panel installation in February of 2013.

When Zaretsky climbed to the roof where he shouldn’t have been permitted to climb, the construction crew did not hold the ladder appropriately causing Zaretsky to plummet to the ground.

“My client’s life will be forever changed after this incident,” said Singer. “I am happy my firm was able to help ease some of the suffering with this settlement. Louis is a friend and I am pleased that he has been able to return to work.”

Zaretsky sustained multiple injuries including a fractured back, damaged nerves in his leg and hematomas on his spinal cord. He walks slowly and with great difficulty.
