Florida Funders has closed a $760,000 equity investment in Homee, an on-demand property maintenance application that is changing the way homeowners and property managers find, schedule and pay for qualified heating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and general handyman services.
Florida Funders was the lead investor in a $1.35 million capital raise, which completes Homee’s $2.8 million of seed capital financing. Tampa-based Florida Funders is a venture capital firm with an equity crowdfunding portal that makes investing easier for accredited investors, and capital more accessible to promising early-stage Florida companies. The capital will be used to support Homee’s rapid growth and expansion into new geographic markets.
Using GPS-enabled smartphone technology, Homee delivers service providers to properties for repairs or maintenance in an average of 30 minutes after a customer has requested service. Every service provider is background checked, reviewed by Homee’s team, and monitored for ongoing quality service by the app’s customer rating system.
Homee has experienced exponential growth since it introduced its groundbreaking app in August 2016, which has been downloaded by more than 25,000 users. Homee has also doubled in both transaction volume and revenue in the last three consecutive quarters.
Today, Homee has more than 1,500 service providers in its network and operates in ten cities throughout Florida and has also expanded to Cincinnati, Ohio.
“Homee’s app is bringing modern technology to an antiquated service model, eliminating inefficiencies in the property maintenance market and disrupting the status quo,” said Tom Wallace, Florida Funders’ managing general partner. “We’re very excited about Homee’s growth throughout Florida and beyond.”
Homee’s service is available for any type of property, from homes and condos to offices and restaurants.
Customers benefit from standardized, lower prices and quick, convenient service, and service providers benefit from a centralized source of work with no marketing costs. Additionally, Homee’s model creates efficiencies for contractors and property maintenance providers to scale their businesses in a way that was not available to them before.
“Florida Funders’ investment is integral to Homee’s growth,” said Doug Schaedler, Homee co-founder and CEO. “We’re experiencing significant success in Florida and now Ohio, our first out-of-state market, and the capital raised gives us the ability to expand into new metro markets, increase our brand recognition, and begin to change the property maintenance industry.”
