Citibank this week celebrated the opening of the Bayfront Citigold Center, the first of its kind in Miami. The 5,590-square-foot branch, located at 201 S. Biscayne Boulevard, features Citi ‘smart banking’ technology, in addition to the full range of Citi products and services.
“Miami is a vibrant, diverse and international city and one of our most important markets,” said Citi U.S. Retail Banking President Will Howle. “We are seeing tremendous growth in online and mobile interactions, as well as new and heightened expectations of what the branch experience should be. Customers expect faster, smarter service that leverages digital technology and incorporates all that Citi has to offer. The new Bayfront Citigold Center is one of the ways we will do that.”
Customers at the new Bayfront Citigold Center are greeted with an interactive digital experience—the branch features new online “workbench” terminals that enhance sideby-side interactions with personal bankers, while providing in-branch access to Citi’s digital banking platform. The adjacent Citigold lounge offers a relaxing, private space to meet with Citigold Relationship Managers, Financial Advisors, Small Business Bankers and Home Lending Officers. Videoconferencing is also available to give clients worldwide access to Citi.
“While we are investing and significantly enhancing our mobile banking offerings, we’re also reimaging the branch experience, bringing the benefits of technology and digitization inside our walls to create a new and inviting experience,” said Miami Senior Area Director Ed Patterson. “Our new Bayfront Citigold Center is a great example of this smart banking model, which combines the important human element with advanced digital capabilities.”
The new Bayfront Citigold Center is part of the major, transformative steps that Citi is taking to adapt and meet evolving customer needs by doing away with one-size-fits all traditional branches to explore multiple sizes and formats. Besides the Bayfront Center, Citi later this month is opening a new smaller digital branch in Midtown Miami, which will be followed by a new full-sized, full-service smart banking branch in Doral Commons in the coming months. Citi debuted its first compact digital smart banking branch last year in Sunny Isles.
Citi has a long history of partnering with some of the city’s most innovative organizations. Among activities, the bank’s work with Catalyst Miami Ways2Wealth helps offer accessible banking solutions to the city’s un-banked and underbanked population, while the Citi Foundation’s Pathways to Progress program aims to help lowincome youth compete in the 21st century job market. The launch of Citi Bike Miami— the rebranding of Miami Beach’s enormously popular Decobike program – led to its expansion into areas including Downtown Miami, Wynwood, Midtown and Coconut Grove. On the cultural front, Citi sponsors the Soundscape Cinema Series and is a Community Sponsor of the New World Symphony and its WALLCAST series.
The new Miami Bayfront Citigold Center, which relocates an existing branch from across the street, is one of more than 50 Citibank branches throughout the Miami area.
