George J. Taylor, a litigation and transactional attorney with the full-service South Florida law firm Brinkley Morgan, was recently honored at the American Cancer Society of Broward’s 2017 Celebration Gala on Sat., April 22 at the Harbor Beach Marriott in Fort Lauderdale.
The American Cancer Society is the largest private, not-for-profit funder of cancer research in the United States, investing more than $4 billion since 1946. The annual gala, which aims to raise funds to support cancer research grants in Broward County, included dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions, and entertainment. The event was hosted by Dale McClean, in-arena host for the Miami Heat.
“I’m so grateful to be involved with such a commendable organization,” said Taylor, “and I look forward to continuing to help the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer.”
Taylor is active member of the South Florida community and has been extensively involved with various civic organizations. During his recent service as Chairman of the KIDS Campaign for Broward Health, he raised an amazing $22.6 million in less than two years for the renovation and expansion of the children’s hospital at Broward Health Medical Center. He also serves on the boards of ARC Broward, Broward Performing Arts Foundation, and the Salah Foundation.
Taylor focuses his practice on resolving legal problems in commercial and business relationships, in both state and federal courts. He also practices in the area of probate litigation, resolving disputes arising from estate litigation, including wills and trust contests. He is a member of The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association and the Broward County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, where he graduated fourth in his class and received Book Awards in Charitable Organizations, Interviewing and Counseling, Probate Law Workshop, and Real Estate Transactions. Additionally, he was selected as a finalist for South Florida Business & Wealth Magazine’s 2016 Up & Comers Award, was the recipient of Leadership Broward’s 2016 Profiles in Leadership Award, and named a 2017 Rising Star in Business Litigation by Super Lawyers.
