March 17th officially marked a new chapter in Gainesville, Florida’s business landscape.

Ingenuity, a $14 million, 50,000-square-foot Class A office building began construction in the college town, opening up four floors of workspace for growing companies looking to benefit from a location just blocks away from a top-ranked university.

Ingenuity’s designer, commercial real estate firm Trimark Properties, is a prominent developer of office space in Gainesville, FL. They have remained a principal force in the commercialization of Innovation Square, the research and tech district between downtown and the University of Florida where Ingenuity will call home. Businesses located in the region have connections to private resources and valuable connections due to their close proximity to the advanced research school, which significantly benefits them when bringing their data and technology to the marketplace.

Ingenuity’s unique, contemporary design is reflective of its location in the revolutionary district. Cubicles and windowless offices have been replaced with floor-to-ceiling windows, wrap-around balconies and spacious, open layouts, indicating a recent transformation in commercial office architecture.

“Through our experience of developing commercial office space, we have discovered that a workplace which enables creativity and the sharing of ideas ultimately motivates a company’s success,” said John Fleming, managing partner of Trimark Properties. “When planning Ingenuity, we envisioned a space that would inspire productivity and promote collaboration in order to facilitate efficiency and optimism in the workplace.”

The building succeeds Nimbus, a 15,000-square-foot office building completed by Trimark Properties in 2016. The company has united with architects Flad & Associates and construction firm Ajax Building Corp. for the project.

Ingenuity will open its doors in January of 2018. All four stories of the building have been leased.
