Seasoned industry veteran joins the firm to continue the expansion of the South Florida multifamily operations

CBRE Group, Inc.,announced today that Chris Smiles, a 30-year commercial real estate veteran and industry leader, is joining CBRE’s South Florida multifamily investment team as senior vice president, along with his son Cal Smiles, who joins the firm as senior financial analyst. Based in Boca Raton, Florida, they will work in partnership with executive vice president Still Hunter to continue growing the multifamily team and solidifying its client-centric approach.

Chris Smiles started his career with Trammell Crow Residential Services, South Florida. Following its acquisition by Gables Residential, he transitioned to vice president where he was responsible for new business development and acquisition and disposition services. After this, he was managing director at Waypoint Residential for three years, where he was responsible for all multifamily acquisitions in Florida. He then joined Woolbright Development as president of the multifamily initiative, where he spearheaded the company’s entrance into the multifamily investment sector.Chris Smiles graduated from Brown University.

Cal Smiles worked as an associate at Woolbright Development, where he oversaw research of the multifamily sector and was responsible for the underwriting of potential multifamily acquisitions. In addition, he coordinated the due diligence process on multiple retail transactions. Cal graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
