Alana Gissen, LCSW of Miami Beach is in the business of getting her clients to talk about sex — and February, the month of love, is a popular time to do just that. A certified sex therapist, as well a licensed clinical social worker and master addiction counselor, with over two decades of experience, Gissen is touted as THE relationship specialist in the Miami area.

Gissen received her BSW with honors from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1991, and her MSW from Barry University in Miami in 1992. Additionally, she obtained certification in Sex Therapy from the Florida Postgraduate Sex Therapy Training Institute in 2006. She has extensive training in sexual dysfunctions and addictions.
As a licensed clinical social worker and master addiction counselor, she also counsels individuals, couples and families with issues such as relationship and/or family problems, drug abuse, stress, anxiety, depression, codependency, coping skills, dual diagnosis, emotional disturbance, family conflict, Internet addiction, life coaching and self-esteem.
