Four Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed Attorneys Promoted To Shareholder In 2017

Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A. is pleased to announce that the firm has promoted Jennifer R. Dixon, Ronald D. Edwards, Jr., Michael S. Provenzale and Stephen C. Thomas to the position of shareholder, effective February 1, 2017. Dixon and Thomas most recently served as of counsel to the firm. Edwards and Provenzale most recently served as senior associates at the firm. Thomas is located in the firm’s Melbourne office while Dixon, Edwards and Provenzale are located in the firm’s main Orlando office.

Dixon focuses her practice on civil and administrative appeals and civil litigation in both state and federal courts, including complex commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and high net worth family and marital law. Dixon frequently works with real estate developers, hospitality and entertainment companies, sports organizations, outdoor advertising companies, lending institutions, educational institutions and small business owners in litigating and resolving business-related disputes. Dixon is certified by the Florida Supreme Court to act as a mediator for both circuit court cases and appeals. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Berklee College of Music and her law degree from the Florida State University College of Law.

Edwards focuses primarily on complex business, banking, contract, and real property litigation, at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal court. He regularly represents national and state banks, title insurance companies, developers, commercial landlords, business owners, franchisors, and franchisees. Edwards received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Provenzale focuses on representing institutional and private lenders in commercial loan foreclosure and other collection lawsuits, receiverships, workouts, bankruptcies, and REO dispositions throughout the state. His litigation practice also includes business, real estate, and condominium litigation. Additionally, he has experience in the area of Real Estate Transactions, Development and Finance, where he has represented a myriad of private and public clients in connection with the leasing, financing, acquisition, and disposition of commercial real estate, and has published several articles on current creditors’ rights and real estate issues. Provenzale received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law.

Thomas, a registered U.S. patent attorney, former engineer and program manager, is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. In this role, he advises business and university clients, many of whom have both domestic U.S. and global IP portfolios, in a variety of markets. He provides his clients with a full spectrum of guidance regarding IP licensing and royalty strategy, technology law, IP acquisition strategies, IP enforcement and litigation, building and maintaining an enforceable IP asset portfolio, teaming/partnering strategies for global product roll-out, time-phased product development, subcontractor management, supply chain management and related matters. Thomas remains engaged in prosecuting numerous patent and trademark applications in the USPTO and actively manages foreign patent and trademark filings in numerous foreign jurisdictions including in Europe, China, Canada, Australia, Mexico, India, South Korea and Brazil. Thomas has defended challenged patents under the new Inter Partes Review (IPR) rules at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) as well as challenged and defended trademarks at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Additionally, he has enforced intellectual property claims against Fortune 100 companies as well as numerous general business and contract related matters, in both the Federal and state courts. He is also a frequent lecturer in IP and business matters for Central Florida business incubators, universities and other organizations. Thomas received his bachelor’s degree from the Florida Institute of Technology and his law degree from the Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School Of Law.
