Biographical information:
Adam S. Chotiner, shareholder, oversees the firm’s Labor and Employment Law practice. He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as an expert specialist in labor and employment law, and he focuses his practice on representing businesses in all aspects of labor and employment law, including overtime and other wage/hour issues; discrimination; harassment; retaliation; and non-competition and other employment contracts. He litigates labor and employment issues in federal and state court and before several administrative agencies, and he also routinely counsels clients on employee handbooks, employment contracts, and various policies and procedures. He also regularly defends property owners and businesses in public access discrimination claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Mr. Chotiner has been on the South Florida Legal Guide’s “Top Lawyers” list since 2015 and he was previously listed as a “Top Up and Comer.” He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida and his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. Chotiner was selected as a Top Lawyer for Labor and Employment.
Lori L. Heyer-Bednar, shareholder, focuses on banking, commercial lending, bankruptcy, business litigation, and real estate litigation, including landlord/tenant matters. Additionally, she works to restructure loans and has experience representing financial institutions against forgery and negligence allegations. She has represented the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Resolution Trust Corporation, worked with failed banking institutions, chaired jury and bench trials, and worked on matters surrounding the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act. She received her bachelor’s degree in computer science and criminology, with honors, from Florida State University and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Miami School of Law. Heyer-Bednar was selected for Bankruptcy, Creditors’ and Debtors’ Rights.
Michael D. Mopsick, of counsel, represents clients in trust, probate, and guardianship disputes, as well as in business and commercial litigation. He is also a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. He is a past president of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association and a past co-chair of the Palm Beach County Bar's Professionalism Committee. He has been recognized by the South Florida Legal Guide as a “Top Lawyer” since 2007 and he has been listed in Florida Super Lawyers magazine, as voted by his peers. He received his bachelor’s degree, with highest honors (valedictorian), from Rutgers College and his J.D. from the University Of Virginia School Of Law. Mopsick was selected for Trust and Estate Litigation as well as Corporate and Business Litigation.
Jeffrey P. Wasserman, shareholder, leads the firm’s Family Law Practice Group. He possesses more than four decades of experience in divorce litigation, including enforcement and modifications, drafting prenuptial and post nuptial agreements, handling International parental kidnapping case, and handling paternity matters. Wasserman is also a Fellow in the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), dealing primarily with international child abductions. Additionally, he is developing a practice in Collaborative Divorce Law to try and keep people out of court in resolving their divorce issues. He has previously been recognized by the South Florida Legal Guide as a “Top Lawyer” and has consistently been listed in Florida Super Lawyers magazine. He received his bachelor’s degree and his J.D. from the University of Miami. Wasserman was selected for Family and Marital, and Corporate and Business Litigation.
