Holy Cross Hospital has named Fort Lauderdale resident Carla Spina, MHA, as its 2016 Director of the Year. Spina services as executive director of the central billing office of Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 141 physicians which provide services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.
“Carla embodies our mission and core values and her dedication to the ministry is always at the highest level,” said Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO Patrick A. Taylor, M.D.
“Although she can be tough when she needs to be, she is reverent, positive and caring. Her critical thinking skills are extremely helpful and there is no problem too small. She makes sure she recognizes those that report to her when they excel and go above and beyond. Carla is the epitome of a leader.”
The Director of the Year Award is presented to a staff member who demonstrates leadership, serves as an inspiration to others, embraces new responsibilities and offers innovative and thoughtful insights.
Spina received her education in Philadelphia where she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Temple University and her master’s degree in health care administration from Saint Joseph’s University.
