Gulf Building LLC has been awarded a demolition/addition contract by the U.S. Navy on the site of the Gateway Hotel building at Naval Station Mayport in Florida.
The construction management services firm has supported the U.S. armed forces through projects including repairs at the naval submarine base in in Kings Bay, Georgia; repairs and renovations to the U.S. Coast Guard base in Miami; construction at Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia; and improvements to the Veterans Administration Hospital campus in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In its newest project, Gulf will demolish an existing facility and peripheral related structures, restore the site after demolition and construction a new single-story building.

The contract extends a two-year growth streak at Gulf Building, which is now among the top 50 private employers in Florida and 13th in South Florida, according to Business Journal research reports. Gulf is also ranked 16th among general contractors in the region.
