Jonathan Etra Appointed Chair of the South Florida Family Resource Center Board

Statewide law firm Broad and Cassel today announced Miami Partner Jonathan Etra was named the chairman of the Family Resource Center of South Florida Board of Directors. He will serve a two-year term.

“Jon’s dedication not only to his clients but also the FRC and other nonprofits shows his commitment to the profession and community,” said Miami Managing Partner Mark Raymond. “This is a well-deserved honor for him and a result of the many years he has put in helping children most in need.”

The Family Resource Center is a non-profit organization providing a full continuum of services helping to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect. In the past year alone, the organization has provided services to more than 2,500 children. Etra has been involved with the organization as a board member for several years leading up to his current role.

Etra is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and White Collar Defense and Compliance Practice Groups. His primary emphasis is on defense of civil racketeering, fraud, receiverships, and partnership disputes. He handles litigation at the trail and appellate level in federal and state court and in arbitration. Prior to joining the firm, Etra was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Office of the Southern District of New York, where he managed cases involving securities fraud, tax fraud, bank fraud, health care fraud, asset forfeiture, and organized crime.

In addition to his involvement with the Family Resource Center, Etra serves on the board directors for the American Jewish Committee in South Florida. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College at Columbia University in New York and earned his juris doctor from Columbia Law School.
