10/18/16

Scott Knapp, a partner in Broad and Cassel’s Fort Lauderdale office, has received the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers of South Florida award.

Award recipients were nominated by their peers to receive this award and selected by a committee comprised of well-known local attorneys and community leaders. This year’s 40 Under 40 nominees have demonstrated excellence in the legal field and contributed significantly to the community. Knapp will be recognized at a gala event in November benefitting the Foundation.

Knapp is a member of the firm's Commercial Litigation and Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice Groups. Concentrating his practice in complex civil matters, Knapp has litigated cases from their inception through verdict in both state and federal courts. He has represented multiple clients, including health care providers, medical device manufacturers, food distributors, pharmaceutical and dietary supplement companies, as well as mortgage lenders and financial institutions in class action claims and multi-district litigation.

Additionally, he has devoted his time and talents to Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi), serving on the Supreme Board of Governors and providing guidance to chapters located in Florida. He also continues to be recognized on a national level having been honored as Florida Legal Elite for the past three years and as a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers for the past seven years.

This recognition from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is just the latest in a series of honors for Knapp. Earlier this year, he was named a 2016 Rising Star by the Daily Business Review and awarded the 2016 Sigmund Steinberg Award for Alumni Service from AEPi, an annual award that recognizes a brother for their many years of dedicated service. He also recently took on the reigns as president of the B’nai B’rith Justice Unit #5207 (BBJU). In 2015, he was recognized by the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association with the 2015 Paul May Professionalism Award, which honors those individuals who have served as a role model for the legal community throughout Broward County.
