Intellectual Property Litigation and E-Discovery attorney Robert Jimenez has joined the full-service intellectual property law firm of Espinosa Trueba Martinez, P.L., as an associate. The award-winning intellectual property boutique focuses in patent, trademark, copyright and other intellectual property litigation and prosecution. With this addition, the firm now has a total of 9 attorneys.

“Robert Jimenez is an outstanding addition to our firm due to his substantial knowledge and experience in the complicated field of e-discovery,” said Jorge Espinosa, Managing Partner of Espinosa Trueba Martinez, P.L. Jimenez’s practice includes intellectual property and commercial litigation, e-discovery, and appellate matters as well as trademark law representing US companies doing business in Cuba. He has experience representing trademark owners, financial institutions, and commercial clients across varying areas in both state and federal court. He counsels clients –as well as other law firms—on electronic discovery issues and has experience in multijurisdictional collections, negotiating and drafting e-discovery protocols, and coordinating with e-discovery vendors across the US. Additionally, Robert routinely handles cases before Florida's District Courts of Appeal and is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, Florida's Southern District, the Florida Bar, and the District of Columbia Bar. He was previously a senior associate with the law firm of Schlesinger & Associates, P.A. in Miami.

Robert received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Political Science from Florida International University and was a member of The Honors College. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law where he was an editorial member of the Florida Journal of International Law. He later matriculated at Wolfson College, Cambridge University for his Master’s Degree in writing from Cambridge. He received his LL.M. magna cum laude with a concentration on intellectual property law at American University's Washington College of Law where he was awarded the LL.M. Outstanding Legal Research and Writing Award for his graduate article ‘Revolution: USA, Cuba, and the Future of Trademarks’, which was published as the cover story in the July/August edition of Landslide Magazine (the American Bar Association’s intellectual property journal).

Fluent in English and Spanish, Robert is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the American Bar Association, the ABA IPL Trademark Subcommittee on Cuba, the Appellate Practice Section of the Florida Bar, and a member of the Forum on Entertainment and Sports Industries. He is also a member of the Cambridge Society of Washington, D.C.

Espinosa Trueba Martinez, P.L. was founded by intellectual property attorneys Jorge Espinosa and William R. Trueba, Jr. in 2008. Elio F. Martinez, Jr. joined the firm as a named partner in 2015. He is a commercial litigator whose practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, specifically infringement of trademarks, patents and copyrights, as well as protection of trade secrets.
