Mayor Regalado to Attend Groundbreaking for Lotus Village, Miami’s Only Homeless Shelter for Women and Children
Major corporate gift to be announced at Friday morning ceremony in Overtown

What: Lotus House, Miami’s only organization exclusively dedicated to providing shelter for homeless women and children, will begin construction of its new state-of-the-art shelter this Friday in Overtown. Hundreds of Lotus House alumni – including dozens of children who were born into the shelter – will be on-hand with Miami Mayor Regalado and elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking.
The launch of the project, named “Lotus Village,” marks the start of a $25 million fundraising campaign, with a major corporate gift being announced at Friday’s event.
