John Arrastia and Dan Zabludowski Add Depth to Firm’s Expertise in Domestic and International Commercial Litigation and Business Transactions

Miami-based Genovese Joblove & Battista (GJB) is pleased to announce that attorneys John Arrastia and Dan Zabludowski have joined the firm in its Miami office. Arrastia joins as a litigation partner and Zabludowski joins as Of Counsel.

Arrastia joins GJB from Arrastia Capote Partners, a minority-owned law firm, where he was a managing partner for six years. His practice focuses on both domestic and international complex commercial and business litigation and arbitration. He counsels and represents clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and individuals at the trial and appellate levels. In addition to representing clients as an advocate, Arrastia also serves as an arbitrator, having arbitratedmore than 75 commercial matters and several hundred consumer disputes.

A promoter and leader on diversity and inclusion efforts within the legal community, Arrastia has been actively involved in state and national bar organizations, including serving as vice president of external affairs for the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), a voluntary bar association that represents and promotes the interests of Hispanic attorneys, judges, and legal professionals. He also served as president of the association’s Florida region and its national Board of Governors and Executive Committee. Arrastia is also a fellow of the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity, an organization working to build a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.

Consistently recognized as a ‘Top Lawyer’ by several leading legal publications, Arrastia was named a Fellow of the invitation-only Litigation Counsel of America. DRI magazine, a leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel, recognized him as a “Champion of Diversity.” He is a frequent speaker and has authored numerous articles on the subject of arbitration, litigation, and diversity. He earned a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge with a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Zabludowski joins GJB from Hinshaw and Culbertson, where he was a partner for 12 years. With more than 30 years of experience, Zabludowski represents domestic and international clients in the areas of corporate, commercial and real estate, loan transactions, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, and the formation of domestic and offshore incorporations. He also represents both sellers and purchasers of diverse businesses in U.S. and international commercial business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and in the sale and purchase of businesses. He also serves as general or special counsel, advising clients in a wide variety of planning issues including the formation, organization and structuring of business entities; business reorganizations, buy-outs, loan restructurings and workouts representing both secured and unsecured creditors, investors and purchasers of assets or ownership interest of distressed companies.

Zabludowski also represents clients in the acquisition, leasing, financing and sale of commercial and residential real estate projects and handles real estate workouts including loan modifications, foreclosures and loan sales.

Zabludowski received his Master of Law from the University of Miami in 1983 and is a 1982 graduate of the University of Miami’s School of Law. Fluent in French and born in Quebec, Zabludowski has a significant international client base, especially Canadian.
