Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman founding member, Joseph Serota and Member Mitch Bierman, have been appointed to the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 term. Serota was appointed to The Chamber’s Board as a Member-At-Large and Bierman will serve as Committee Chair for the Transportation and Infrastructure division.
Serota has extensive trial and appellate experience representing private and public entities throughout South Florida. He is currently listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers, South Florida Legal Guide Top Lawyers, and was inducted into the Florida Trend Legal Elite Hall of Fame. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and earned his juris doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law.
Bierman handles government affairs and administrative law matters for major international companies in the transportation, environmental and solid waste, and engineering and construction industries. His work includes winning and negotiating large public contracts, public private partnerships, public infrastructure improvements and affordable housing developments as well as advocating for industry clients on legislative issues affecting their industries.
Bierman chairs the firm’s Airports and Aviation Services Group which is a special practice in airport law representing airports and airport-related business including airlines, cargo carriers, car rental companies, airport concessionaires, consultants and construction and engineering firms. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University and his juris doctorate from the New York University School of Law.
