William S. Kramer, a partner at the full-service South Florida law firm Brinkley Morgan, has been appointed as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Real Estate Certification Committee, effective July 1, 2016. Kramer previously served as the Committee’s Vice Chair for the 2015-2016 term.

The Real Estate Certification Committee evaluates candidates for board certification and recertification and writes, administers and grades qualification exams for Florida Bar board certification of real estate lawyers. The standing committee consists of eleven members appointed by the president of The Florida Bar. Certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of competency and experience within an area of law.  Real estate lawyers seeking board certification must meet the minimum standards, which include: practice of law for at least five years; substantial involvement in the specialty of real estate law in the three years immediately preceding application; 45 hours of approved real estate law certification continuing legal education in the three years immediately preceding application; peer review; and a written examination.

As a Board Certified specialist in Real Estate law with more than 30 years of experience, Kramer focuses his practice on representing individuals and organizations in complex real estate matters throughout Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties. He has served as Chair of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Real Estate Committee, The Florida Bar’s Boca Raton Area Grievance Committee, the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Liaison Committee with CPAs, and the City of Parkland’s Code Enforcement Board.  Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Council and is the Chair Elect of the Board of Directors for SOS Children’s Villages in Broward County.
